House of the family of Kashmiri pro-freedom armed fighter destroyed by Indian military
On December 10th, the house of the family of Kashmiri pro-freedom fighter, Ashiq Nengroo, was demolished by the Indian authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. In April this year, the Indian government declared Nengroo as a “designated militant” under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, an Act that has been used by the Indian state to repress all forms of resistance to Indian occupation, ranging from detentions of journalists to house demolitions (and seizures) of pro-freedom activists.[4]
